On Being Different

For at least the last four years, I have been getting notes from The Universe. Most of the time I rush past them when they show up in my inbox but occasionally one stops my finger from pressing the delete button too quickly.

This is the one I received yesterday.

Well, actually, Elizabeth, you were different.
You didn’t want a perfect life, a typical life, or even a normal life.
You wanted a one-of-a-kind.
How we doing?
~The Universe

If you asked, I would have to say that I think The Universe is doing alright by me.

  1. I love the Universe! I too get those messages, and read them every day. Some days they truly do speak to me, while other days I just say “Huh?”. I would agree with the Universe for you. You are leading a one-of-a-kind life. Isn’t it glorious? šŸ™‚

  2. I like when the universe laughs at you, but in a kind way. Make you realise that you can’t take yourself too seriously, however hard it seems at the time. Or maybe that is me being able to laugh at myself.

E, I think if the Universe is giving you nice views like this, then you both doin’ AOK. Pic 1 & 2 – loves ’em.

  3. Ah, I get those messages too and I take them seriously. Always find I am in the right place when I do! Thanks for this reminder, and as always, your beautiful photography!

  4. I started subscribing to Notes after Marie Ellen recommended them to me about six months ago…..I love them.

Of course, I thought each one was specially created just for me!!!!!! ha!

  5. These photographs are just so lovely. How wonderful that you get to soak up all that beauty and then be kind enough to share it with us. Thank you!

  6. What beautiful photos and such a glorious adventure. Thanks for turning me on to the Universe notes. I just signed up. I’ve often found that the Universe tickles you with a feather and if you don’t listen, It hits you with a brick.

    I’m listening! šŸ˜‰

  7. Loving seeing New Zealand through your lens – will be there briefly next year while on another adventure myself!

Glad you are having such a wonderful trip…….keep bringing us more, please!!!!

  8. What a wonderful combination of quote and image.

When my husband and I started dating, he promised me that our life together would never be boring. It’s true, but I expected more adventures of the sort that you’re on; instead the adventures have been more internal and emotional.

Thank you for all the photos. I am enjoying the vicarious adventure. I also thank you for living your unique life with gusto–you inspire me!
